PLM Benefits Reference Model Workshop
This 2-day Workshop focused on the benefits of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) will be held in March in London. It is one of a series of Workshops being held in different locations around the world as part of the Launch Phase of an international, collaborative project to develop an industry-standard Benefits Reference Model for PLM.
The Model will be of use to everyone who needs to define and justify the benefits of implementing PLM, and to know that the results of an implementation are as good as those achieved by other organisations. It will help companies save time when identifying the benefits of PLM, make it easier to communicate about PLM, and provide a basis for management decisions about PLM investments.
The Workshop Series
The Launch Phase consists of a series of workshops hosted by the Founder Members of the Project. The first, as shown, will be hosted by UGS in London, UK. The second will be hosted by PTC in Boston, USA and has been re-arranged to 06-07April. This will be followed by at least one further workshop planned for either Singapore or Japan, hosted by MatrixOne, and others are in the pipeline.
Each workshop is a concentrated 2-day event that will enable participants to combine their own PLM experiences with those of the Group. Every delegate will receive a written Summary Document, produced by the PLMIG, and will also receive the compiled results of the other workshops in the series.

Why 2 Days?
Because, quite simply, that is how long it will take. Anything less would not be sufficient to cover the subject in a useful way.
How Do I Make My Input?
The sessions are totally participative, though we do keep things moving to the timetable. All delegates mix with each other at the coffee break and lunch so you will have plenty of chance to share ideas. If you wish, you can also make a 15-minute presentation on Day 1, though this is not compulsory.
IP / Confidentiality
Everyone who attends the event is free to choose what they will say, and in what level of detail. There is therefore no pressure or cause to reveal any Intellectual Property. All discussions at the Workshop are considered as confidential and not for general publication.
